A unit of California State Parks, Asilomar State Beach & Conference Grounds is located steps from Asilomar State Beach which stretches one mile and is made up of rocky coves and a few sandy areas. The beach is popular with surfers and kayakers and offers beautiful views and walking trails. Asilomar State Beach is part of the Asilomar State Marine Reserve which provides a refuge where marine life can replenish dwindling populations and fishing and collecting is prohibited.
